Tunnel Syndrome
The carpal tunnel is formed by bones in the
wrist. A major nerve called the median nerve
controls the thumb, index finger and parts of
the the middle and ring fingers. This nerve passes
from the tip of the fingers through the carpal
tunnel and runs up your arm, shoulder and neck
to the spinal chord. Problem can arise anywhere
along this path.

the carpal tunnel structure.
What Can You Do?
When typing or using a computer keyboard hold
your wrists straight. Have the keyboard at a
level that keeps your wrists and forearms parralell
to the floor. Avoid flexing or bending the wrists
while typing. Take frequent breaks, at least
every hour, to get up and move around. |
