The carpal tunnel is formed by bones in the wrist. A major nerve called the median nerve controls the thumb, index finger and parts of the the middle and ring fingers. This nerve passes from the tip of the fingers through the carpal tunnel and runs up your arm, shoulder and neck to the spinal chord. Problem can arise anywhere along this path.

Treatment

After a thorough examination your chiropractor will perform adjustments to areas where needed. These adjustments help reduce irritation a normalize the carpal tunnel structure.

What Can You Do?

When typing or using a computer keyboard hold your wrists straight. Have the keyboard at a level that keeps your wrists and forearms parralell to the floor. Avoid flexing or bending the wrists while typing. Take frequent breaks, at least every hour, to get up and move around.
